San Antonio Texas

Riverwalk_ early in the morning, but wait as the day goes on the restaurants open and the people start coming.  This is a pleasant nice area in San Antonio.  We stayed right across the  street in the Sheraton Gunter, a nice old hotel.  It had an interesting history which was displayed around the lobby.  To be with our tradition of [touching stuff before reading the sign(s)] I immediately began showing Nick how to use an old operator service-plug in style phone before we both notice the 'antique please don't touch' written in several languages...luckily we got away without a shout out!

I would recommend this as a nice hotel in a
great location.

Cancel 100 miles too boring.....

Hello,
I can't share the boring one  hundred mile  photos because they are all about the same as the one I have here! Arizona is a boring drive and Texas makes Arizona look exciting!

So instead I will tell you what was fun.
San Antonio, Texas and the  riverwalk.
This area is very nice. We found some good food and enjoyed walking along the shaded, cooler river area.
It is all about the food. We even went to the
Carwash/Laundry/food restaurant -The Cove-to get Jalapeno Carrot cake and organic burgers.

We had a great dinner sitting on the river people watching.

I recommend anyone to spend a few days enjoying the Alamo and the riverwalk area.

Last we stayed at the Gunter Sheraton -great location if you are headed this way and unique old hotel (old as in architecture not upkeep).

Next stop.....more  great food..... NOLA

San Diego, Day One off to Tucson Arizona

MIle 10- El Cajon (The Box)
SUN AND CLEAR SKIES- When you are 100 miles out of San Diego. You will be in the  Imperial Valley, Farms, Farms and a nice bunch of folks. I am back into the desert Paul and I lived in a few years ago. I told you Lots of deset on this trip.

Do you know you can listen to
almost an entire book on tape in 200 miles. Pick a good one!

Mile 200
More desert only no water so no farms. Just heat and sun....

Mile 300
Beautiful (desert) mountians off in the distance. The best part of day only 100 more miles to Tuscon.

Mile 400
Two dumb towers were at this mile marker. Yes it is a long drive especailllly when you drive 20 more miles looking fot the non existent  exitgoogle map direction!  Did I mention the hot sun!
We made it. No fights (even after last 20 miles)! The hotel was beside University of Arizona walked to a few restaurants but the town is dead as college is on vacation.  As a last minute, Please stay with me on this journey boring as it will be.  Look at the overhead design Arizona has crazy laws but pretty highways.  Thanks for sticking with me. Next day 869 miles through Arizona.New Mexico then Texas.
Did  you know lots of desert in Texas too
